Teacher Appreciation Week at Pen Argyl High School

Throughout a student’s four years of highschool, many teachers positively impact their lives. On January 15, these teachers were recognized by the seniors of the Cheerleading and Girls Basketball teams. This has become a tradition for the girls basketball team with this being the fourth annual teacher appreciation game.
Riley Kocher, senior, chose to honor English teacher Krista Campbell. Kocher said, "Being involved in the character ed program that she is the advisor of has definitely made a difference in my life. I learned to have good character and good leadership skills. I hope that I can be as great of a teacher as she is in my future career."
Not all of these teachers made an impact on just the students' education but with their personal life. Gabriella Moyer, senior, chose English teacher Sarah Herbert-Hannick to acknowledge during the game as someone who has supported her in and out of school for many years.
Moyer said, "She has taught me multiple lessons, whether they are school related or not, and I will use those lessons in the future for sure. I am very grateful for it!"
Senior Addison Zeiner picked art teacher Alison Cesare. Zeiner has had Cesare as a teacher since her freshman year.
This is the first time Cesare has been chosen for any recognition ceremony.
Cesare said, "This is a very sentimental moment for me. I told her I wanted to cry when we walked out there. I hope I encourage her to follow her passion. Not only that, but encourage all of my students to follow their passion and be good people."
The crowd cheered as each student and teacher were called out. After all of the announcements each teacher was given a gift bag from their chosen senior, showing just how much they mean to them.

Allison Cesare embraces Addison Zeiner as she has never had the honor of doing so with any other student on this night. A special occasion for a very special teacher.
