The PAHS Track and Field team is gearing up for their upcoming season under new coaches Molly Kutz and Noelle Vargo, both from the class of 2020. This commitment signals a fresh start for the team.
With both of their own backgrounds the coaches should inspire and take the team to new heights. With new coaches to the roster these athletes can possibly be seen reaching new heights and making a lasting impact for the PAHS Track and Field program.

Kutz said “I love giving back to the sport. I’m so excited to be back at my alma mater and help the throwers at PAHS grow, compete, and believe in themselves.”
Kutz comes with her own experience from PAHS and Kutztown University as captian . Kutz competed in many throwing events including shot put, weight throw, javelin, discus, and hammer throw. Kutz explains that she wants to open a new perspective to the team and encourages them to grow individually as well as together.
“I chose this coaching position because I have a passion for fitness and athletics that I hope to share with the young, talented athletes on the team now,” said Vargo.
Vargo believes that she can improve the team not only through her own knowledge of the sport, but by being a supportive figure on the sidelines. Vargo started her own journey at PAHS participating in long jump, high jump, and her main and favorite event of pole volt.”
With two new alumni coaches on the roster they both share many memories from their own track and field days.
Coach Kutz expressed that during her first three years of track and field at the high school she did not have a coach until her senior year. As one of the eldest ones on the team she mentored the younger athletes while practicing herself.
Coach Vargo communicates how during her days at PAHS Coach Brey threw her into running events that she wasn’t willing to do. To this day Vargo now enjoys running as a regular component of her workouts.
“Things really do change as you get older,” Vargo said.
