Attendance plays an essential role in student success at Pen Argyl Area High School. As such, the school has a structured system in which absences, early dismissals and college visits are documented properly. Following the specifics of these procedures helps students stay on track and in good standing.

Robin Pagotto is the attendance secretary at PAHS and she maintains accurate and timely attendance records for each and every student. All absent excuses must be submitted to the main office within five days after the student returns from being absent. There are two ways students can do this: you may put paper excuses in the wooden excuse box in the main office during school hours or have your parent or guardian electronically submit excuses through Skyward.
One thing to note is the change in policy from the middle school to the high school. Each student is responsible for turning notes into the office and they should not be given to homeroom teachers.
A positive attendance record is one of the best ways to guarantee academic success in high school. Aside from being the law, students who attend school regularly and on time have a greater opportunity to reap the benefits of their time in high school.
