The 2025 World Series began on October 1 between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Blue Jays started off the Series with a huge 11-4 win over the Dodgers. The Dodgers weren’t brought down by that score, and came back with a 5-1 win the next day to tie the Series 1-1.
The third game was an exciting one. The Dodgers started off with a 2-0 lead in the 3rd inning, the Blue Jays took the lead 3-2 in the 4th. The Blue Jays scored again making it 4-2. Quickly after, the Dodgers scored making it 4-3, then again, tying up the game at 4. The score stayed for another inning until the Blue Jays scored. At the Dodgers next at bat, their star hitter, Shohei Ohtani, hit a home run to tie the game up for the second time. No one could score for 11 more innings, until First Baseman, Freddie Freeman, hit a home run, securing another win for the Dodgers.

Los Angeles Dodgers, back-to-back World Series champions, celebrate their win. This game was pitcher Clayton Kershaw’s (seen holding the trophy) last game as a professional baseball player, and Los Angeles Dodger.
Game four was close until the 7th inning when the Blue Jays scored 4 runs, which allowed them to win, and tie the Series again. Game five was not a close one at all, the Dodgers only scored one run, and the Blue Jays scored six. The next game would be a crucial one, as another win for the Blue Jays would leave World Series Champions. Gracie Smith, senior, “I was really holding out hope for the Blue Jays this entire postseason.”
Game six did not go as the Blue Jays or their fans hoped. The Dodgers scored three runs in the 3rd inning, and the Blue Jays scored one in the same inning, and the rest of the game went scoreless, allowing the Dodgers to stay in the Series, and have a chance to win it all.
Game seven was the most important game of the whole World Series. Whoever came out with the win this game, were the Champions. The Blue Jays took an early 3-0 lead, but the Dodgers scored quickly after that. Both teams scored in the 6th inning, making the score 4-2. The Dodgers scored again in the 8th inning, but they were still trailing behind. After a nerve-racking 8th and beginning of 9th inning, the Dodgers scored in the 9th to tie the game. Whoever scored next was likely to be the World Series Champions. Eric Sampson, guidance counselor, and long-time Dodgers fan, said, “The last four innings were very tense and either team could have won if one thing changed. I believe it was an all time game that was watched by a very large TV audience. It would have been difficult to take if they would have lost.”
The teams gave their all, and fortunately for the Dodgers, it paid off. They scored in the 11th inning, and the Blue Jays didn’t answer back, giving the Dodgers a 5-4 win, and a World Series win. Many people were rooting against the Dodgers. Smith said, “In my experience of watching the Dodgers, they don't have a love for the game, they have a love for winning.”
Despite the negativity, the Dodgers are now back-to-back World Series champions, and could be headed for a third championship in a row.
